Web VR holds the promise of greatly simplifying and democratizing VR. It makes it possible to create and experience VR for everyone, without expensive equipment. No applications need to be downloaded - all you need is a compatible browser and a dirt cheap VR headset, that can be had for US $10 or less. It's still early days, however, and browser support is spotty. We still want to inspire you to join the VR revolution with this simple virtual photography exhibition. It looks very pretty in full screen on a PC, but it's not until you put on your googles and step into this space that you actually feel like being there. You can move around in the room and look at every picture at close range. This used to take considerable programming skills to make, but it's getting easier by the day, just like web site building has been democratized over the last few years.
Soon non-technical users will be able to create their own spaces and share them with the world. We will also be able to jump between each other's spaces via links, just like we do today between flat web sites. We look forward to working with artists, both local and international, to exploit this great opportunity to make distance irrelevant, as well as any excuse not to reach out and start communicating and working together.
