Mino Yaki (Mino Yaki, Mino Ware) is a collective name for ceramics produced in areas spanning Toki City, Tajimi City, Mizunami City, and Kani City in Gifu Prefecture. The history of Japanese pottery in the area appears to have started more than 1,300 years ago. The Tono area in Gifu prefecture where Mino ware is mainly produced is Japan's largest ceramics production base, accounting for about half of the Japanese pottery production. (Based on Wikipedia)
Eihō-ji was established in 1313 by the Nanzen-ji branch of Rinzai Zen Buddhism. The Western visitor is certain to appreciate the serene and quiet atmosphere of the temple grounds, far away from the tourist traps elsewhere in Japan. The temple grounds are home to a number of zazen trainees, and the temple holds regular zazen sessions open to the general public. In addition to two buildings listed as National Treasures, the grounds include a pond, bridge and waterfall, and a traditional Zen garden. (Based on Wikipedia)
