Tajimi Yakisoba (tajimi miso flavoured Fried noodles)
"Tamiji Soba Yakisoba" is a dish which won the grand prix in the "Tamiyaki Maki Gourmet Contest" held in August 2010. The inventor is Professor Horihiko Hori, who teaches social studies at Tajimi Nishi High School. It features a sweet miso flavor symbolizing the heat of Tajimi (just like the sun in our logo :-), and if you eat it, your body gets hot quickly! Fried eggs are used as toppings of the fried soba noodles, shining like the sun over Tajimi!
There is a movement to raise "Tamashi Soba-yakisoba" to become a local gourmet food, and to encourage eating and drinking establishments to keep it as a standard item on their menus. In January 2011 the "Tajimi Soba Study Group Preparation Office" was established for this important purpose!
Today, the dish is being served on the event venues in various places, and the "Tamiji Yakisoba" is being actively promoted in the city of sun and glorious noodles.
